Social

Table Tennis is a social sport, You stand literally 10 feet away from your opponent. It breeds familiarisation, You are warriors at the table and whilst you will do anything to get the ball past them, you participate in a shared experience. Once the game is finished it is (usually) great and easy to chat with the person you were 10 feet away from.

Whichever scenario you play you can just meet people. Talk about the sport, talk about anything.

People play at local sports centres, tables are in local parks and workplaces. There are now Ping Pong bars open in cities to have a drink whilst you play. People playing and being social. People play within families, friendship groups and with work colleagues.

In league and competitions you can play as part of a team and this is where your matches contribute to a team match. For some this can be a little stressful as they feel the responsibility of the team on them for the performance. But winning as a team as in team sports is an amazing bond building feeling.

Wherever you play do not forget doubles! Again great for social. Just by playing alternate shots, that you have to in TT doubles, this breeds fun and often laughter.
